Evaluates effectiveness of training in active listening skills. Couples trained in the skills became significantly more accurate in their perceptions of spouses' attitudes and feelings. Results indicate that greater accuracy did not have a significant effect on marital adjustment. (Author)

Participants in sensitivity training reported more change after training than before and these changes were more positively evaluated than change prior to training. Changes after training were seen as more personally caused. These effects were particularly marked for behaviors that were positively evaluated. (Author)

The effects of social skills training upon the behavior of eight previously institutionalized mentally retarded adults residing in community group homes were evaluated.
