Results of a 1981 survey of accredited library schools to determine role of student associations in library education based on Richard Eggleton's 1972 study reveal that student associations have increased in number, are better funded, and their members are involved in decision-making process through membership on committees and councils. Surveyed participants (N=453) in sorority and fraternity rush about the effect rush had on their self-images. Found students who pledged a Greek-letter organization reported that rush had a neutral to positive effect on their views of themselves, while nonpledges indicated that it had a neutral to negative effect.
