A qualitative analysis was conducted on parental participation in a voluntary organization concerned with the intellectually handicapped. Theme analysis revealed parental concern about the services being offered by the organization, with younger parents particularly questioning benefits of belonging to the organization. (Author/CL)

Fathers participating in a pilot program for fathers of young handicapped children were compared to newly enrolled fathers, and husbands' and wives' responses were compared.
