Investigated the effect of locus of control on vocational maturity in a sample of Canadian high school students (N=700). Examined the stability of depressive symptoms in children as measured by peer, self, and teacher ratings over a six-month period. A multitrait-multimethod matrix containing two methods of measuring 12 personality traits was analyzed and confirmatory factor analysis was applied to the data. Social interest was positively correlated with number of recent life changes and negatively correlated with total mood disturbance. Tested whether individuals with Type A coronary-prone behavior focus attention more on important tasks, than do Type B's. Results indicated Type A's performed better on math problems and recalled more fatigue-related mood items when task was important, whereas Type B's performance did not differ between the task categories.
