Examined the stability of depressive symptoms in children as measured by peer, self, and teacher ratings over a six-month period. A multitrait-multimethod matrix containing two methods of measuring 12 personality traits was analyzed and confirmatory factor analysis was applied to the data. Social interest was positively correlated with number of recent life changes and negatively correlated with total mood disturbance.
