Describes the University of Wisconsin Extension Program's Educational Telephone Network (ETN) which provides more than 150 credit and noncredit program series annually. The attitudes of first- and second-year students at the University of Nevada School of Medical Sciences were surveyed and results from 95 students (77 percent) show that definite patterns of attitudes toward continuing medical education do exist early. Implications for improving participation motivation are noted. (LBH)

Relicensing requirements that demand nothing beyond the initial examination for first issue of the Professional Engineer's license do little to promote continuing professional competence.
