How to Maximize Coaching's Return on Investment
Tara Anderson; Ash Holland
Learning Professional, v46 n4 p14-17 2025
Sustaining strategic and effective instructional coaching programs is possible--even with increasing pressure to cut costs--when leaders carefully and systematically assess their programs to understand and improve their return on investment. The authors encourage leaders to do so using an approach called System Strategy Return on Investment, which allows leaders to make more strategic resource allocation decisions by identifying a core need, implementing a research-based strategy designed to address that need, and then monitoring progress along the way. The article describes how two Texas districts used the system to align coaching resources, improve outcomes, and invest where it counts most.
