The performance of 132 pre- and primary school children on a Bender-Gestalt copying task was compared with that of a multiple choice version. Significant correlation coefficients were obtained between the copying and recognition scores. Two modes of story telling, live reading and recorded reading, were compared. Each child heard a story presented by the teacher or a recording and then retold the story. An analogue study was conducted to ascertain whether hiring preferences for psychologists are influenced by race, sex, marital status or physique.
