The pre-college training program is a successful, creative marketing technique in attracting a larger percentage of graduating high school seniors. Inherent in budgeting for these programs is the appropriation of funds to promote outreach efforts that maintain a self-supporting program. Budgeting at the University of Iowa is described. (MLW)
