The present study compared diagnostic classification of the standard and an abbreviated form of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale using brain-damaged and psychiatric patients as subjects. Subjects (N=60) read elation, depression and neutral self-referent mood statements and then answered a number of questionnaires with cognitive and affective content. This paper examines the relationship between social class and both age-graded and non-age-graded voluntary association membership in a sample of 320 older people. A study of the 1968 election and a role play experiment suggests candidates are viewed more favorably after an election, whether they have won or lost. The loser is apparently not derogated as a result of having lost. Men and women seem to differ in the kind of winner they prefer. (Author)

This study indicates satisfaction with life in general and with housing in particular is not a short-term result of moving into better housing. At the end of eight years, older people in good housing continued to be happier and better satisfied with life than were similar people elsewhere in the community. (Author/EJT)

Yalom's Q-sort questionnaire was administered to 13 groups and then item analized. Factor analysis identified seven major "curative" factors.
