A cluster analysis of 282 rehabitation-need profiles of alcoholic clients resulted in extraction of seven distinct groups. Each group was described in terms of its level of psychological-need satisfaction related to the seven scales of the Human Service Scale. Various problems of adjustment for each group were discussed. A sample of 108 high- and 109 low-disclosing college females rated risk individuals should take in revealing personal information to six helpers and perceptions of each helper's characteristics. High-disclosure females thought clients should take greater risks with more trained helpers. (Author)

The complementarity hypothesis which suggests that A-type therapists be paired with B-type clients and vice versa was tested in an analogue study while several main effects of interest were found, the interaction of client and therapist characteristics was found to be in the reverse direction of expectation. The effect of therapist self-disclosure on patients, under induced expectations that disclosure is appropriate, was studied. Results implied that for therapist disclosure to facilitate client openness, a therapist must emphasize disclosure as a part of the professional role and as appropriate for effective psychotherapy. The impact of social desirability on level and type of self-disclosure under varying model characteristics was studied. In the no-model condition, social desirability had no effect on the level or content of self-disclosure. Models had no effect on low self-disclosure, but did create modeling effects on high self-disclosure subjects. (NG)

A rapid treatment approach to common sexual dysfunctions has been used in treating 59 couples, including 74 symptomatic individuals. The intensive workshop format resulted in a saving of patient and professional time and is seen as a viable alternative to more time-consuming approaches of treating various sexual dysfunctions. Caretakers of 100 Foster Family Care (FFC) homes were interviewed to assess demographic characteristics, relationship with sponsoring agency, family-nature of the home, and community recation.
