This study aimed at assessing whether successful therapy outcome is related to positive attitudes towards therapists. Subjects were 93 clients. Those clients who were very satisfied with therapy, as opposed to those who were not very satisfied, described their therapists as warmer, more likable, more active, and more involved. (Author/SE)

Adolescent girls simulated the responses of an elderly woman on a personality questionnaire. Later, a group of them received empathy training through getting feedback information on the actual answers of elderly women on the questionnaire. This study indicates that more socially desirable characteristics are attributed to physically attractive than unattractive middle-aged persons. It is suggested that this difference in social desirability is greater for female than male stimuli and that elderly persons stereotype middle-aged persons more favorably than young adults do. (JMB)
