Applied the stress inoculation paradigm, consisting of education, coping skills training, and exposure to simulated stressors, to the occupational stress experienced by nurses (N=60). Results demonstrated that stress inoculation is an effective treatment with durable benefits, and that coping skills training is its principal ingredient. (JAC)
