Normal infants were administered the Bayley Scales of Infant Development at 6 months and the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale at 3 years. At 6 months the quality of stimulation found in the early environment was measured. Results indicate that home environment may contribute to instability of performance on infant tests. (GO)

Investigated whether attitudes toward school mathematics on mathematical achievement differed between low and high intelligence eighth-grade students in three Japanese schools (N=808). Explores the generality of findings relating intelligence to Inspection Time (IT), the exposure necessary to judge which of two lines is longer, in two studies using normal children and mentally retarded adults.
