Reports results of two-part survey on organization of chemical libraries at the college and departmental levels. Includes library configuration, size of collections, hours/service/staff, departmental reading rooms, and instruction in chemical literature based on questionnaires returned by 149 libraries and 144 department chairpersons. Fifty-one percent of the teaching faculty surveyed were in favor of academic librarians at SIU-C having faculty rank and status.
