Hair samples from 31 learning disabled and 22 normal children were analyzed. Significant group differences were determined and a discriminant function was computed which separated the groups with 98 percent accuracy. Although the hypothesis that alpha biofeedback training would make a significant difference in reading gain scores of nine learning disabled students (7-12 years old) was rejected, most Ss gained in amplitude and duration of alpha waves and evidenced a slight improvement in hyperkinetic and maladaptive behavior with increased comprehension.
