The Inpatient Scale of Minimal Functioning (ISMF)--based on revised scoring of the Social Breakdown Syndrome Gradient Index (SBSGI) item pool--is described as a means of overcoming inherent problems in the SBSGI scoring procedure. The ISMF possesses greater reliability, with an increment in concurrent validity as compared to SBSGI. (Author)

Bolton, Brian – Rehabilitation Counseling Bulletin, 1976
This research project ascertained personality profiles of rehabilitation clients. Three personality inventories were used. Results indicated state agency rehabilitation clients are characterized by differential patterns of personality characteristics. The taxonomic procedure used was profile analysis, and data was based on self-report. (NG)

This paper reports a test of Easterlin's (1973) hypothesis that marital fertility is more a function of relative than actual income. Results indicate actual income exercised a significant positive effect on marital fertility at all points in time while relative income did not. (Author)

Serial rote learning was examined as a function of sex, verbal ability, and stimulus presentation rate among 64 individuals aged 60-79 years. At the fast pacing speed, the men with average verbal skills produced fewer responses and performed less well than their female counterparts. (Author)

A content analysis of the best adolescent literature of the Twentieth Century was undertaken to determine the types, extent, and importance of older characters. The findings indicated that older persons were not underrepresented but were under underdeveloped and peripheral to the major action of the books. (Author)

The goal of this study was to identify relationships among the counseling behaviors of practicum trainees and the supervision behaviors of their supervisors during a one-semester counseling practicum. Trained judges rated several variables from audiotapes. Empathy levels of the supervisors had no apparent effect on the trainees. (Author)
