Katch, Frank I.; And Others – Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport, 1984
This article reports on an experiment that evaluated the effects of a 27-day sit up exercise training program on adipose cell size and adiposity. Fat biopsies were taken by needle aspiration from male subjects before and after a progressive training regimen. Results are discussed. (Author/DF)

Proposes that a model of conflict resolution based on communication theory constitutes an effective approach to the learning of skills in conflict management. Four young children with severe and moderate handicaps were taught to generalize play responses. Across the four participants, training to generalize within-toy sets resulted in complete between-class generalization in 11 sets, partial generalization in 3 sets, and no generalization in 2 sets. A multiple baseline design across subjects assessed effects of vestibular stimulation on acquisition of erect and symmetrical sitting of three preschoolers with severe and multiple handicaps. Compared Minnesota Couples Communication Program and Structured Behavior Exchange training with a waiting list control group through a multivariate repeated measures procedure (N=32 couples).
