Health promotion is defined as "any combination of educational, organizational, economic, and environmental supports for behavior conducive to health." This paper examines current efforts in health promotion, their goals, activities, settings, and research activities. (JD)

Eight papers presented at the Fourth Delbert Oberteuffer Symposium are reprinted. The topic of the symposium was the role of the administrator in planning and implementing health education programs in the schools. The papers cover a variety of problems as well as suggestions for improving the quality of school health education. (JD)

It is suggested that Community Mental Health (CMH) should be more involved in the development of comprehensive behavioral services, which is now taking place outside the traditional mental health environment.
