Increasing frequency of marijuana use was found to be significantly related to increased creativity, adventuresomeness, internal sensation novelty seeking and impulsivity, and decreased authoritarianism. No differences were noted in manifest anxiety among user groups, but heavier marijuana users earned lower grades in school. (Author)

Report on the Early Entry Institute at Northern Michigan University, a special 8-week summer program for high school graduates considered to be poor academic risks as college students. Describes a study that found that undergraduate grade-point average and number of semester hours completed in psychology do influence student performance on the psychology test of the Graduate Record Examination. Because different fear of success measurement instruments do not seem to tap the same underlying trait, factor analysis of this construct was inconclusive.
