Studies of the relationship between the monopsony power of school districts and teachers' salaries are inconclusive. This study redefines certain variables and finds evidence of monopsonistic activity in local teacher labor markets. The small wage effects occur mainly at the mid-to-upper ranges of the bachelor's degree salary scale. (Author/CH)
