Peer reviewedSilbergeld, Sam; And Others – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1975
The Group Atmosphere Scale (GAS) was developed to measure systematically the psychosocial environment of therapy groups. Twelve content subscales, each containing 10 true-false items, assess the consensual psychosocial environment. Several of these serve as indicators of group cohesion and conformity. The GAS makes feasible a comparison of…

Peer reviewedZuckerman, Marvin; And Others – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1975
MMPI was given to 145 male and female drug abusers on admission to three therapeutic communities, and retests were done at the finish of the first phase of the program. Comparisons of stayers and quitters showed quitters higher on the F and psychotic scales. (Author)

Peer reviewedComrey, Andrew L.; Backer, Thomas E. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1975
Several possible faking predictor scores were related to a continuously measured index of faking based on differences between faked and normal records and also to a dichotomous criterion of faking on the Comrey Personality Scales (CPS). Correlational analysis revealed that a total CPS summary score best indicated fakery. (Author/BJG)

Peer reviewedBritney, Robert R. – Socio-Economic Planning Sciences, 1975
Describes and evaluates a circuitless flow model for forecasting future student attributes and enrollment projections, compared with a simple Markov chain model. Data from a study of secondary students are used to illustrate the analytical methodologies and to contrast results of the Markov chain and circuitless flow models. (JG)

Peer reviewedElion, Victor H.; Megargee, Edwin I. – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1975
The validity of the MMPI Psychopathic Deviate (Pd) and Pd+.4K scales to discriminate levels of social deviance among young black male prisoners was investigated in three studies. It was concluded that Pd and Pd+.4K both validly differentiate levels of social deviance but that the norms for the scales appear to show racial bias. (Author)
