This study examined the professional competence perceptions of elementary school classroom teachers. Results indicate that teachers need and want feedback concerning their professional competence and that school counselors can respond to this need. The study, conducted in a large manufacturing firm, examined employee background and occupational characteristics and their relationship to the degree of resistance to a job enrichment program.
