The data from the interviews indicated that, in most areas of family life, the middle-income couples had different attitudes and behavior patterns from the urban and rural low-income couples. Black children as a whole had higher rates of homicide deaths than White children, but the difference fades when socioeconomic status is taken into consideration, especially for older children.
