Examined the influence of chumship relationships and altruistic behavior on loneliness in 116 students aged 12-14 who completed four measures. Results indicated that chumship relationships did not account for differences in loneliness. Students reporting close chumship and weak altruistic behavior were loneliest. (JAC)
