Simplified and generalized theories of noted psychologists are presented to help one develop an understanding of human behavior along with problems in applying these theories to the learner and teacher of industrial arts. (GR)

While the functioning of all pupils was affected by teacher behavior, problem children were more sensitive to the teacher's social and affective orientation. Assessed behavior problems in blind children (N=104) at a residential school. Teachers completed the Behavior Problem Checklist and results were compared with previous studies of deaf children. Characteristics of a behavioral approach to remediating academic deficits of learning disabled (LD) children are reviewed. The behavioral approach encompasses individualization and mastery learning, direct teaching, and an emphasis on measurement. (SEW)

The results showed that while the children with bilateral OME did not differ in terms of background characteristics, they were significantly disadvantaged in speech articulation ability, verbal comprehension, motor development, and intelligence.
