The day-to-day demands of teaching make eliminating job stress all but impossible. Urban teachers can do a better job of containing and controlling stress if they can recognize the stress potential in a situation and identify the causes of stress. A short, intensive orientation program offered to a small group of students before the start of their first computer science course taught a simple programing language and provided pre-programing skills.
