This study obtained data about marital relationships of parents of 1056 college students, and used the data to test ideas in Rodman's theory that resources and authority beliefs influence marital power. The clearest finding was that normative structure was more important than resources in accounting for variances in power. (Author)

Subjects viewed one of two female confederate counselors exploring a female confederate client's problem and attempt to influence. Significant results were higher ratings of counselor expertness for the expert than the referent power base, and higher ratings of counselor expertness for low status within the expert power base. Korman and Super differ in regarding vocational self-concept crystallization of high and low self-esteem persons. This was measured by the Tennessee Self-Concept Scale using undergraduate students. A significant difference was found for both sexes in the degree of crystallization across self-esteem levels, therby supporting Super's model. (Author)

The Key Math Diagnostic Arithmetic Test was administered to 82 learning disabled adolescents. An analysis of the performance of these children revealed that mean LD performance peaked at approximately the fourth grade level of difficulty and there was marginal variation in performance across the 14 subtests. The study examines the role of conceptual tempo in creativity and problem solving. It was hypothesized that reflective children would do well on tasks involving evaluation components, while impulsive children would do well on typical creativity tasks.
