The proposition that age at first marriage is inversely related to the risk of divorce was examined by means of detailed age-duration-specific divorce rates for California 1969. A strong inverse relationship was found for male ages at marriage 18 through 25 and female ages at marriage 16 through 24. (Author)

Following Lopata's (1966) model of the life cycle of the married woman's role, it was predicted and found that a woman's life stage would be related to her role pressures (work, home, self, and time), conflict, and satisfaction. It was found that Ss from heterogeneous couples were less authoritarian than Ss from homogeneous couples. On three measures of prejudice (social distance, characteristics evaluation, and attitudes toward behavior expressing prejudice), it turned out that Ss from heterogeneous couples were less prejudiced than Ss from homogeneous couples. Results from 109 of 110 large universities showed a national increase in new black freshman enrollment from three percent in 1969 to six percent in 1973.
