Parallel analyses of effects of wife's social origin and educational attainment on husband's occupational attainment are presented for the two countries. Goal of study was comparing alcoholic beverage buying habits of University of Delaware students with those of students at other colleges. Random sample of 639 was drawn from 13,000 undergraduates and interviews conducted. Drinking at Delaware was similar to that at other schools. An ongoing peer counseling program was studied. Results suggested two distinct service delivery systems. An informal system served large numbers of self-referred students and dealt primarily with personal-social problems.
