Black (n=63) and White (n=74) infants, aged 6-13 months, were screened by tympanometry for middle-ear dysfunction. More White infants than Black failed initial screening. Retest of initial failures after a 6-week interval showed an overall reduction in failure rates, but the significant racial effect was still obtained. (Author/JDD)

Five formulas for identifying discrepancies for eligibility as learning disabled (LD) were applied to 137 children (ages 6-14) already diagnosed as LD. Analysis of 621 peer-peer items in the zero to six year age range from 54 assessment tests revealed such results as that over one-third of the items featured social participation, and that problems were found with the tests' ability to identify peer-peer deficits and to provide a framework for intervention. Tested the utility of the Career Decision Scale in identifying chronic career indecision in 205 high school seniors. Followup data was gathered three years later.
