Surveyed 93 female college students and identified 32 (34%) as self-induced vomiters. Comparisons between the two groups showed considerable differences in feelings about eating habits, health habits, self, parents, and relationships with others. Vomiters had stronger feelings of being dominated by others. (JAC)

Evaluated the psychophysiological impact of Three Mile Island on nearby residents (N=38) compared to people living near an undamaged nuclear plant (N=32), a coal-fired plant (N=24) and a control group. Results indicated that residents of the TMI area exhibited more symptoms of stress a year after the accident. (WAS)

Studied levels of psychological functioning of survivors (N=147) of the Beverly Hills Supper Club fire. Results showed the group as a whole was more impaired than the comparison sample. Survivors who were at the fire were less impaired than survivors not at the fire. (WAS)

The computer interfaced with biofeedback instruments was used to assess need projections while viewing 132 picture slides in 11 areas of one's life space.
