Beaton, Albert E.; And Others – 1972
Longley proposed a set of data for use in testing regression programs. This paper shows that the numerically accurate solution is likely to be an unreasonable estimate of the regression coefficients for this problem. This is true because the accuracy of the data and appropriateness of the model may affect the solution more than the computational…

Huitema, Bradley E. – Multiple Linear Regression Viewpoints, 1978
Many methodologists are aware that parametric tests associated with the analysis of variance and the analysis of covariance can be computed using regression procedures. It is shown that multiple linear regression can also be employed to compute the Kruskal-Wallis nonparametric analysis of variance. (Author)

Wolfle, Lee M. – Multiple Linear Regression Viewpoints, 1978
The author is generally critical of the previous article (TM 503 686), which concerned the use of multiple regression for nonparametric analysis of variance. (JKS)

Huitema, Bradley E. – Multiple Linear Regression Viewpoints, 1978
Issues in analysis of covariance, multiple regression analysis, and the analysis of variance such as the assumption of independence and directional hypotheses are discussed. (JKS)

Hamilton, Basil L. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1977
The effects of the violation of the assumption of homogeneity of regression on the Type I error rate and on the power of analysis of covariance are investigated. The results indicate that analysis of covariance is robust when sample sizes are equal. (Author/JKS)

Marjoribanks, Kevin – Journal of Educational Administration, 1977
Bureaucratic orientations and autonomy have significant linear and curvilinear relations with attitude measures of ideal of service and dedication to teaching. Bureaucratic orientations and the professional attitudes of teachers need not be in conflict if schools increase the autonomy allowed teachers. (Author/IRT)

Samaniego, Francisco J.; Rickard, Scott T. – Journal of Educational Statistics, 1977
An evaluation of a college summer enrichment program is described in which analysis of covariance is used to focus on the impact of the program on college academic work. The integration of this statistical study into the decision making process of an evaluation task force is also described. (Author/JKS)

Hall, Richard H.; And Others – Administrative Science Quarterly, 1977
Interorganizational coordination is related to different forms of interaction in the relationships among the organizations, depending on whether the basis of the relationship is mandated by law, based on a formal agreement, or is voluntary. (Author/IRT)

Schau, Candace Garrett; Heyward, Vivian H. – American Educational Research Journal, 1987
Stepwise multiple regression was used to develop salary prediction equations, one from each of two faculty samples used most frequently used in this type of research. An analysis of the model found that on average women were paid significantly less than men. (RB)

Counts, George E. – Journal of Experimental Education, 1976
The purpose of this report is to describe a process for creating unique multiple linear regression problems for each student. Three formulas were utilized to define intercorrelations between variables. (Editor)

Raouf, Abdul; And Others – Journal of Library Automation, 1976
Possibilities of using regression techniques for predicting, evaluating, and controlling the performance of bibliographic search procedures are explored. "Least time" search sequences for bibliographic searching are determined. (Author)

Strand, Kenneth H. – Online Submission, 2000
This paper contains information concerning the following: 1. An overview of multivariate analysis of variance, and discriminant (DA) and canonical (CA) analyses. 2. An introduction to specification and measurement errors, and collinearity. 3. The sparsity of information concerning specification and measurement errors and collinearity as they…

Holmstrom, Engin Inel; Holmstrom, Robert W. – American Educational Research Journal, 1974
This study investigated factors underlying discrimination against woman doctoral students. Analyses revealed that faculty attitudes and behavior toward woman doctoral students contributed significantly to their emotional stresses and self-doubts. (Author/NE)
