A market survey was conducted to determine the cost effectiveness of translating any foreign-language biomedical periodical on a regular cover-to-cover basis. The results of the survey suggest the continued translation of individual articles on a demand basis instead. (MM)

A general consideration of the entry of foreign personal names and of indexing theory, as well as of the principles of transliteration and transcription, is followed by guidelines designed to help the practicing indexer improve the consistency of personal name entries. (Author/MF)

It is proposed that literary translation is intrinsically an act of literary criticism. This theory is illustrated by discussion of specific problems in translating Sartre's "La Nausee" and Leonard Forest's "Le pays de la Sagouine," especially the use of verb tense. (MSE)
