How Engaged Is Your PLC Team? A Self-Assessment Tool Offers Insights
Dave Nagel; Bruce Potter
Learning Professional, v46 n1 p44-47 2025
Effective collective learning demands that educators be fully present and actively engaged--both mentally and physically--during professional learning community (PLC) meetings. When teams build norms that explicitly support a culture of presence, honesty, and continuous reflection, they create an environment where every educator can contribute meaningfully. This approach not only strengthens individual accountability but also enhances the collective learning experience, fostering a more cohesive and impactful PLC culture. This article delves into a framework for building and ensuring engagement in PLCs. This framework is called the engagement continuum for adults, and it can help PLC leaders and participants build more meaningful collaboration that leads to a collective commitment to success.
