International Association for Development of the Information Society, Paper presented at the International Association for Development of the Information Society (IADIS) International Conference on Cognition and Exploratory Learning in the Digital Age (CELDA) (22nd, Porto, Portugal, Nov 1-3, 2025)
The use of the Internet of Things (IoT) in e-learning creates new opportunities for automating administrative tasks and enhancing interaction between teachers and students. This paper introduces an IoT-based system for automatic attendance tracking that fits into an intelligent learning environment. The system utilizes a local web server that generates a web page for registration via any Wi-Fi network, eliminating the need for an additional application. Access is provided through an address assigned by the teacher, ensuring platform independence and ease of use. Only one participant can register from each device, thereby minimizing abuse and errors. This system is convenient for both students and teachers, simplifying attendance management and easily integrating with e-learning platforms, assessment systems, and administrative portals. In addition to the educational context, it can also be used for organizing events, seminars, and remote learning sessions.
