A computerized budget projection program developed for faculty use in proposal preparation is described. The three budget components are global budget parameters, personnel, and other direct operating costs. Efficiency of budget preparation is greatly increased, especially for multiple-year budgets. A survey of 712 companies shows that corporate support of education rose in 1981 by almost 11 percent over 1980. In addition, more than 40 percent of manufacturers' (including chemical companies) contributions goes to educational endeavors.
