Russell, James E. – NACADA Journal, 1981
One task of the academic advisor is to impart knowledge of previous students' experiences to the student on academic probation, since many students on academic probation make common errors in judgment. Academic advisors can intercede and help the student in decision-making. (MLW)

West, Mariquita – Journal of the American College Health Association, 1971
Study results are similar to findings of S. King (1968) which show very few differences in background between users and nonusers. Noncounseled students did as well academically as counseled, and only half of the latter felt their experience had been helpful. There appears to be a need for more evaluation of counseling effectiveness. (CJ)
