Education in the Asia-Pacific Region: Issues, Concerns and Prospects
The research reveals the close relationship between current trends in migration and educational processes in Kyrgyzstan. The authors note that the professional level of migrants from Kyrgyzstan in the domestic and international labor market is not quite high. The problems of school education, vocational training, and training of managerial staff of migration policy are revealed. Moreover, the authors reveal the main problems in the educational sector related to the imbalance of the vocational education system, the lack of qualified teaching staff, low attendance, and overcrowding in public schools, especially in cities. The research also reveals the main problems of training management personnel for migration policy and examines the main mechanisms for increasing its effectiveness. Particular attention is paid to the fact that the lack of migration specialists has a destructive effect on the implementation of migration policy and, consequently, on the migration situation as a whole because migration processes remain spontaneous in the absence of their professional management. The authors note that the modernization of migration policy in Kyrgyzstan should be based on a clearer understanding of the priorities and tasks in training migrant workers with qualifications and assessing the quality of education. The authors propose to create a scientific and educational center for migration studies based on one of the leading universities in the country, introduce special educational programs for a unified educational scientific and practical complex, and create a bibliographic index of all publications on migration, ensuring open access to them.
