To examine how group-relevant personality traits relate to student perceptions of their own involvement, 57 students taking introductory educational psychology at Temple University (Pennsylvania) were given a two-week treatment design. Only the relationship between liking hard work and involvement remained significant. (Author/LC)

Reading ability and performance on the Matching Familiar Figures Test were compared for two samples of seven-year-old children. Considerably more of the poor readers than the main sample were found to be impulsive. There was a consistent tendency for girls to be more reflective than boys. (Author/KC)

Extends sex bias research to personality measures, distinguishes two new types of sex bias, and provides a methodology for testing these biases. In many personality and interest inventories, a score profile, rather than a single score, is attributed to each subject. Six applicable criteria are suggested for use in examining the adequacy of items in such inventories.
