Investigated relation of personality factor of hardiness to resolution of grief. In anonymous sample of 70 widows, hardiness was significant predictor of grief resolution in addition to general mental health, time since death, and widow's age. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to test the theoretical structure of the revised Personal Style Inventory (PSI) (C. Robins and others, 1994) with 869 nonclinical adults and 101 outpatients with depression.
