Data from a sample of 2,049 agriculture graduates of 1862 land-grant universities and 235 from 1890 land-grant universities revealed that educational attainment is the best predictor of income. Those with advanced degrees earn more on the first job than those with bachelor's degrees. (SK)

A study of 195 agriculture graduates (133 males, 103 work-experience participants) showed that completion of one or more work terms significantly increased starting salaries. Males received over $4,000 more in starting salary. Grade point average and employment history were not significant predictors of salary. (SK)

Career histories of 73 graduates of Antioch College's liberal arts co-op program, 1946-55, showed an average of 6.5 jobs before retirement and high rates of self-employment. Those with low performance in cooperative education were much more likely to have earned graduate degrees. Self-employed graduates had more varied jobs and retired later. (SK)
