Examined the consistency of student identification with subcultures in the Clark-Trow typology and determined that identification with a subculture during the undergraduate years is associated with choices 10 years later. (Author)

Asian-American undergraduates (N=139) responded to a questionnaire covering demographic information and attitudes toward education, family, interracial contact, and racial discrimination. Findings suggested the continuing importance of Asian values even though respondents had little contact with members of their racial groups. (Author/RC)

Explored the relationship between social interest, life changes, and individual mood states. Social interest was positively correlated with number of recent life changes and negatively correlated with total mood disturbance. High social interest individuals reported less subjective mood disturbances associated with perceived stress. (Author)

The age-earnings profile of male workers is significantly influenced by the age composition of the workforce. The dependence of the age-earnings profile on demographically induced movements along a relative demand schedule suggests that standard human capital models of the profile are incomplete. (MF)

Discusses an instrument developed to assess the counseling needs of older persons. The Older Persons Counseling Needs Survey was administered to (N=107) older persons. Results of a statistical analysis indicated that older persons have a variety of counseling needs that are all approximately at the same need level. (RC)

Uses Markovian analyses to compare the search patterns of novice and experienced searchers using an experimental computer-based instruction and assistance system for Lockheed's DIALOG. Junior and senior high school science teachers in six school districts were asked to rank 80 classroom-teacher behavior items in order of importance. Three basic types of teachers were found from the rankings. (MP)
