An experiment was conducted to determine whether a correspondence exists between what students say they know, and what they actually know as shown by an achievement test. Results suggest that for survey purposes, asking people whether they possess information may be a satisfactory method for determining their knowledge. (MS)

Finds that the usual adult superiority in speed of processing could be markedly reduced if children were given equivalent amounts of domain knowledge. The paper examines the literature on psychological characteristics of the abusing parent. The authors conclude that abusive parents were abused as children, lack accurate parenting knowledge, were characterologically impulsive, and that socioeconomic stressors were neither necessary nor sufficient causal factors in the abuse cycle.
