Graduate students enter training programs with varying but substantial levels of interest in research, and these programs generally enhance their research interest. The failure of most psychologists to produce postgraduate research may be caused by the demands of their employment. (CS)

An instrument was devised to test three components of leisure attitudes: cognitive, affective, and behavioral. A final test was administered to 1,042 subjects. The results supported the use of the three components in testing for leisure attitudes. (FG)

A survey conducted by the Association of American Medical Colleges used direct contacts with medical faculty members to obtain data on their activities in research. Five specialty groups were identified: medical, surgical, hospital-based specialists, behavioral specialists, and basic scientists. (MLW)

Eight patterns of cultural choice, isolated from data collected in a 1973 national survey using a hand-crafted clustering technique, cannot be arranged in hierarchical order by social class, bringing into question the hypothesized association between culture class and social class. (Author/RM)
