This research addresses the question of the comparability of equal scores on the same test from children in different grades. The results indicate that the scores are comparable, and support the assignment of Iowa Tests of Basic Skills levels that match the child's developmental level. (Author)

Evaluates college students' understanding of chemistry as operationally defined by Bloom. The Test of Higher Cognitive Learning in Chemistry was administered to 488 students upon completion of a one-semester course in general chemistry. Significant differences were found among student mean scores at various cognitive levels. (HM)

Approximately 14,000 sixth grade students, representing the 10 major regions of Indonesia, were tested in mathematics, science, social studies, and Bahasa Indonesia, the offical language. Results showed that rural children learn much less than city children, and that lack of Bahasa Indonesia in the home is not a serious disadvantage. (Author/MV)
