A case study is presented in which a patient received four MMPIs and attempted to present himself as mentally healthy though suffering from a mental disorder. The changes on the MMPI profiles are interpreted in terms of the patient's clinically observed dynamics. Implications are discussed. (Author)

Members of a longitudinal study were classified on the basis of their drinking behavior. The core of traits which described the cohorts of each category of women drinkers were discernible to raters in the early adolescent period. Problem drinkers and abstainers had in common certain traits which suggested inadequate coping devices. (Author)

They had identified primarily with their fathers, and that their interest in mathematics had arisen from sublimation or search for autonomy in fantasy rather than from reaction formation or withdrawal. Type B women are concerned with antagonizing others as a result of succeeding more than Type A women.
