The concept of citizen governance has been implemented with marginal success. This paper presents an orientation and training program for citizen boards aimed at raising their competence in certain key areas including policy planning, program evaluation, public relations, organizational management and fund-raising. Compared the effects of memory and growth training groups on memory complaints, memory performance, and affective status in the community elderly. Results indicated that both training groups significantly reduced concerns about memory and resulted in improved memory performance. (Author)

Probationers' problems with probation officers and employers were used in a role-play test. Groups of probationers received behavior training in petitioning and justification skills and were able to learn the responses as assessed during role-played situations. (JAC)

It is designed to train dental and dental hygiene students to respect, understand, and serve handicapped patients with knowledge and skill, while meeting special patient needs and using effective inter- and intraprofessional collaboration. Twenty-four underassertive adults were randomly assigned to two treatment orders that included covert modeling and behavior rehearsal. No measurable difference in treatments was found, but participants preferred and had greater expectations of behavior rehearsal.
