Kaiser, Justin T.; Herzberg, Tina S. – Journal of Visual Impairment & Blindness, 2021
Introduction: This study analyzed 39 data collection tools used by teachers of students with visual impairments when completing functional vision assessments (FVAs). Ray, Christopher T.; Wolf, Steven L. – Journal of Visual Impairment & Blindness, 2010
Adults with visual impairments experience a loss of balance and mobility, which presents a barrier to independence and is associated with the fear of falling. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which visual status, age, gender, body mass index (BMI), and the strength of quadriceps and hamstrings contribute to compromised…

Jones, Tim – Journal of Visual Impairment & Blindness, 2006
This article reports on the ability of observers who are sighted and those with low vision to make time-to-collision (TTC) estimations using video. The TTC estimations made by the observers with low vision were comparable to those made by the sighted observers, and both groups made underestimation errors that were similar to those that were…

Peer reviewedKalloniatis, M.; Johnston, A. W. – Journal of Visual Impairment and Blindness, 1994
An analysis of questionnaires completed by 94 partially sighted children and their parents attempted to identify the visual environmental adaptation problems (VEAPs) of children in regular classrooms. Significant VEAPs were found in classroom tasks, in tasks that required the resolution of fine detail, and in some mobility tasks. (Author/DB)
