Peer reviewedLoper, Ann B.; Hallahan, Daniel P. – Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology, 1980
A direct comparison was made of the reliability and validity of the standard Matching Familiar Figures Test (MFF) to a recent longer version of the task (MFF20) with 76 learning disabled children (7 to 12 years old). The N. Salkind and J. Wright (1977) formulation was used to generate continuous data, and IQ was statistically controlled. (Author)

Jacobs, Stanley S. – 1994
This study analyzed and tested the equivalence of Forms A and B of the California Critical Thinking Skills Test (CCTST). In designing the CCTST, Form A was composed of 34 items from a bank of 200. To develop a parallel measure, Form B was developed by rewriting 28 of the 34 items and rearranging their order. Study participants were all entering…

The measurement integrity of M. A. Rahim's Organizational Conflict Inventory (ROCI-II) and D. M. Roussel's Managerial Frames of Mind Survey (MFMS) was investigated, as was the relationship between scores on the two measures. Investigated the efficacy of various WAIS short forms among outpatients. Results favor Pauker's (1963) short form but also show a decrease in correspondence between short-form and Full Scale scores when the short forms are administered separately. (Author/EJT)
Descriptors: Clinical Diagnosis, Evaluation, Intelligence Differences, Intelligence Tests
Wolf, John C. – 1980
The predictive value of the high-school-level battery of the tests of General Educational Development (GED) for two-year college academic performance was investigated. GED tests scores were examined to determine if they could substitute for a complete high school record as a source of predictor data. Student record data from a registrar's office…

Peer reviewedBrooks, Sarah; Hartz, Mary A. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1978
The predictive ability of a mathematics test organized into a branching test for computer-interactive administration was investigated. Twenty-five blocks of five items were used in the branching. Each testee took 25 items, with each subsequent block being determined by prior performance. Results supported the branching technique. (JKS)

Factors seem to indicate that the OQS could be effectively substituted for the NTE as a screening measure for graduate students in education. The D-48 was not added to the prediction equation, since it made a negligible contribution to the total prediction. (Authors/CB)

Peer reviewedMcGiboney, Garry Wade; Carter, Clifford – Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1982
The Hand Test was administered to 30 male and 10 female eighth- to tenth-grade students transferred to an alternative school for acting-out behavior. When retested 21 days later, responses were significantly consistent supporting the reliability of the Hand Test variables related to acting-out behavioral tendencies. (Author/CM)
