The goal of this study was to validate the Experience in Close Relationships Scale--Short version (ECR--S) in Korean college students. One item of the attachment avoidance subscale was deleted following confirmatory factor analysis. The results suggest that the ECR--S demonstrated acceptable internal consistency and construct validity.

Evaluated the dyadic adjustment scale by reconsidering the factor structure of the scale and its subscales using a maximum likelihood, confirmatory factor-analysis procedure. Studied a new sample from the same geographical area. High reliability was confirmed for the overall scale. (Author)

Examined one instrument devised to classify respondents for research purposes into high and low marital or dyadic adjustment groups. Data indicated that, while the overall scale performs the task reliably, the majority of its 32 items are unnecessary. Factor analysis revealed that there was one underlying "adjustment" dimension.
